Summer Road Trip Part 2!

I can only continue with our vacation update as we have very limited opportunities with wifi! And since we are at a RV park we have wifi!

So we are now headed to Yosemite National park. It was a bit of detour but we had a few days up our sleeve before picking Anthea up from Oakland airport, so that's what we did.

Here is the loong Richmond bridge. It sure gets windy high up on those bridges.

We arrived at our campsite just before dinner. It was so quiet and beautifully nestled in the forrest.

The following two days we explored Yosemite. The valley where the park is, is surrounded by tall (and I mean tall) rock formations. Just sheer rock. Makes one feel very small and insignificant!

One of the falls. However, water flow wasn't half as what it is normally,

There is a waterfall in the background, believe it or not!

In between days, we headed down the mountain to an RV park and relaxed in the pool. It was heavenly! It was getting quite warm!

The RV squeezed through the gap in the rock!

A hop on hop off bus took us to all the tourist spots in the park! The best thing was it was air conditioned and we could see so much from the comfort of our seats!

I believe this was the Bridal veil falls.

The picture doesn't justice to the magnificence of the rock!

We then headed down the mountain and parked a little RV park which was very quiet and placed in the middle of orchards and what must have been an onion farm!

Story time!

And of course, laundry's part of holidays too!

The following morning, we headed out to Oakland and picked up Anthea!

We spent the night at a church carpark and then explored San Francisco. Here is the famous Golden Gate bridge!

We walked Lombard Street which is the windiest and steepest road (I think in the world but don't quote me!). And it was mainly built like that for safety. It is such a tourist attraction, cars were continually going down. And being in an 32 ft RV doesn't work, so we walked up and down!

Alcatraz Island. We didn't tour the island (that's for next time!)

We toured different locations for different vistas of the bridge.

Hiking to Point Bonita Lighthouse.

While we were at Point Bonita, we visited the Marine Mammal Centre which cares for mainly seal lions who are either injured, neglected as a pup or suffering from malnutrition. It was an interesting experience seeing the doctors care for them and seeing their hospital wards.

For the weekend we stayed on the grounds of the URC Trinity church in Concord. There was some shady trees at the back where we camped and relaxed. And on Sunday we enjoyed fellowship with the members (quite a few who were of dutch background!).

Jaclyn making the Sunday cake!

On Monday morning, we headed back to the coast and visited places such as Pebble Beach 17 Mile drive, New Brighton beach and Carmel on the Beach.

As we were traveling the 680, we came across this fire which was out of control and we suspect might have been arson. It was long side the highway and no fire trucks or police at the scene yet!

The beach girls at New Brighton beach!

Traveling along the coast, the terrain was very rugged and went on for miles and miles.

A beautiful coastal sunset.

The RV park we had planned to camp at was full, so we drove on and came across a open area and so we pulled over and camped there without any problems.

When we're not on a busy highway, this is the girls' favourite place to sit; in-between Dad and Mum looking out the front window!

We've been traveling for two weeks. Everything has gone exceptionally well and for the most part, tempers have not flared (too) often! We are thankful for God's continued care and blessing on our travels.

Thanks for looking!
