Heading out East - Part 2

After leaving Yellowstone, our next destination was Mt Rushmore. Along the way we stopped at Shell Falls.

We first went to Crazy Horse, a work in progress project. Very interesting and impressive!

For hundreds of km (miles) we encountered Harley after Harley. We found out it was the annual motorcycle trek where Sturgis is the place to avoid (for the Aussies a bit like Bindoon!). Note to self: do not go that way next year as it  will be their 75th year celebrations!

After Crazy Horse, we went to the presidents monuments. This too was very interesting!

Spot the clowns!

Couldn't resist this one! This is what the Canadians see!!!

After Mt Rushmore we drove through a wildlife park where we saw elks, bears, bisons and even a grizzly.

The bear cubs were the cutest! Just like little kids. They annoyed each other and competed with one another. Here two were climbing a tree, seeing who could get the highest! Very comical!

That night we camped in a little town called Wasta. Was a great little camping spot. We paid $5 for the night and we had water and electricity. There was a military museum with free entry.

Emptying the sani!

The next day was a lot of driving and we had to camp at this place! Adrian Campground!

Shantey loved to drape herself over Steve while driving. Steve loved it too!

At one gas station, we were treated to an icecream from Opa and Oma! Yum!

Crossing the Mississippi!

The little sleeping beauties! We would drop the table and that would be their little bed!

Driving through Chicago

And then entering Michigan

Our journey on the map so far.

So on Saturday around 1pm we arrived in Hamilton. Steve along with Alex when they arrived (they flew in), went to Ali's buck's party. We caught up on our washing.

Sunday after morning church, we headed to Ali and Megan's place. They have a cute little place and they have lots of plans.

After the afternoon church, we headed to one of Megan's sisters place for a bbq. Very enjoyable and it was great to meet them all.

So we arrived safe and sound! We are very thankful for God's care and protection over us during the many miles we travelled. We saw God's mighty handiwork and we loved the many beautiful sights and wildlife.

The week leading up to the wedding we went to Niagara and Kitchener. But that is the next post.

Thanks for looking!
