Today was a public holiday for Labour Day. The first part of the day was a church picnic at the school grounds including lunch. Unfortuately I have no photos but it was really nice. The atmosphere was great and so was the turn out. For the kids there was face painting, chalk to colour the footpaths, finding candy in shredded paper and a few others. Lunch was served and what an abundance of food! Buns, an array of salads and fruits, chicken and the corn station. It's corn time so it is very popular. Vreugdenhil's corn is renown for miles around and today was no different. They were crisp and crunchy and just delicious with a dob of butter! Yum. After lunch, sweets was an individual icecream in a paper cup (similar to Paul's icecream in Australia).

And since the weather was just so nice, we took up the raincheck and we enjoyed the afternoon at Whatcom Lake boating with the Henry and Corrie. The little kids went with their parents first and then the older kids went biscuiting and skiing. We had a fantastic time. The weather was just perfect and the lake was so calm.

Oh yes, Shantel asked where the sand was. All she could see was dirts and rocks/pebbles. So I told her there is no sand so she better get used to walking on the rocks!

We had a fabulous day! Once we got home, Taleesha had a bath, her milk and she was off in dreamworld!
And every cloud has a silver lining, in this case, a gold one! The view from our lounge at sunset. Beautiful!
The next big event this week will be Shantel starting kindergarten on Wednesday. She is one very excited girl!
