Apple pies, Deception Pass

This blog update is lots of photos, mostly one photo per event or something that happened around here!

Taleesha went on a field trip with her kindergarten class to Hillview Diary, yep, the farm next door, so she was quite the pro! Here she is, feeding a calf her bottle!

And it was apple pie making again! We got over 550 pies out the door in a day and an evening!

I thought this was interesting; this is a pic of the fall decorations inside the ladies bathroom (toilets) in Walmart. Like Kmart. But things stay there and don't grow legs!

One afternoon, we took the girls to Trampoline Zone where they can jump for a whole hour till their hearts' are content and they're sweating like piggies!

And a Menchie's ice cream afterwards!

During the Canadian Thanksgiving/Fall break, a whole bunch of men and their sons camp out at Deception pass overnight! It was a great experience for them. There were over 55 males!!!

Steve and I went out for a date night and had dinner at Olive Garden (Italian) and then to an Impressionist Show! Or Magic! It was really well done! Great night out!

This is all closed now but before it did, we went for a hike to Artist Point at Mt Baker! It was freezing cold and lightly snowing. But so beautiful and spectacular!

And as we came down the mountain, we stopped in at a Sumas Mountain lookout and there's our house!  Our house is along the bank of tall fur trees.

Taleesha's class went on another field trip, this time to the Pumpkin Patch. They got to choose a pumpkin to take home, went on the maze and did other fun things!

Jaclyn and Taleesha did some pumpkin carving. Looks very impressive!

And we have another kitten; a feisty, playful thing called Missy. It's an indoor cat!

Hippie Day! Peace man!

And these two got engaged! Yay! With the planned wedding in March, plans and preparations are in full swing! This weekend is the engagement party! So very happy for them! May God bless their plans!

A Michael Smith/Amy Grant concert! Guest singer was Jordan Smith; he was amazing!!

Starting them young!

 Book Character Dress Up Day!

And now that Thanksgiving has passed, out come the Christmas decorations! Three girls very excitedly packing them and inevitably, playing with them!

Well, we are finally up to date! We have a number of things planned for the coming weeks, so my goal is to be a bit more regular with my blog! We'll see how that goes!

Thanks for looking!

Kindergarten, 5km Run and the Cruise!

So now we're up to September! We had a week between Shantel and the rest of the school starting to when Taleesha started kindergarten. So together with Bernice, we made lots of applesauce! Taleesha loves to turn the handle, and especially asked to wear my Fitbit so that I could get extra steps!! Sneaky!

The produce from our garden!

And when Cassie was over, they played schools. No guesses who the teacher might be!!

And finally the big day!! A very happy and excited young lady ready to start kindergarten. She goes two days a week.

Her table buddies are Justin and Kiersten!

On September 10, it was the Homestead race. Here's a pic of Bea, Corrie and myself before attempting the run/walk 5km.

And the bigger group all before the race!

And a picture to prove I made it!!!

And another couple who also made it!!

And on the same day, it was Taleesha's 6th birthday!!

 A spoilt little girl!

And a birthday party in between church services!

And a group photo of all the girls in her class!

And then our one day cruise from Seattle to Vancouver on the Maasdam! Here we are the Bellingham bus stop ready to catch the bus that would take us to Seattle!
L-R: Corrie, Trina, Janice and myself.

The cruise boat!

Once on board, we located our rooms and made for the decks! It was such beautiful weather; we even got to tan on the pool deck!! Bliss!
In the distance you can see Mt Ranier (right) and on the left is the Needle.

We were still in port in Seattle but some of us went for a swim, some read and yet others took a nap!

We wined and dined, enjoyed a live comedy show, walked the decks and just made the most of our time!

The day restaurant.

The evening dining room.

During the night the boat travelled on towards Vancouver. At 7am the next morning, we arrived. After breakfast, we disembarked.

We walked around gas town; an 'artist' decided to draw Trina and myself. Apparently we are sisters! We took a photo and discarded the 'masterpiece'!

Approaching Canada Place with our cruise line on the right! Tiny compared to the Norwegian liner parked on the left!!

We took the skybus and walked around the Longsdale quay. Then we took the skytrain back to the bus depot where we caught our bus back to Bellingham. We all had a great time and were thankful for the experience, also the time we could spend together!
