September 10 was Taleesha's 5th birthday! Once we gave gifts and everyone went to school, we got ready for a small birthday party with some friends.

One of her gifts was a kitten but as they were still too young, we selected one with blue eyes and white paws. We promised to visit it during the next two weeks till it was ready to come home with us.
Traditionally the kids are allowed to choose where or what they'd like for dinner, and Taleesha chose MacDonalds!

Saturday 12 marked the Fun and Fitness Carnival. The morning was cool and foggy.
There were face painters, hamster balls, climbing wall, bouncy castle and the ever popular chicks and puppies!

The LYS (Lynden Youth Sports) also had their first day of soccer games, and Shantel was one of them.

There were three fundraisers running for the benefit of Cornerstone school that day, including a run and a golf tournament and dinner in the afternoon/evening. It was a busy but fun day!
A week later, and it was time to visit the kittens!
The girls continue to have 'school' once a week and are progressing through their letters and numbers. They alway ask when they can do their homework and are very keen to do their work sheets. Today they made their own puzzle with a page from an old calendar pasted on card and they attempted using their cutting skills to cut out the pieces!
We also visited the Everson library. They loved looking for books as well as playing with the toys and educational things in the junior section. And then, we went to pick up the kittens (we got two so that Shantel had one too!). It was a major highlight for the rest of the afternoon!
Out here, the corn is coming down, the weather is cooling down and the leaves are changing colour! Fall is setting in and it's just a lovely time of the year!
Time of the year also for the fundraisers to take place again. Tomorrow is veggie packs and two weeks time is the apple pies!
